We thought we found the perfect home about a month ago, but it didn't work out. I had my heart set on it. It was brand new, and it had everything we were looking for. It had a fireplace, hard wood, crown molding, and new stainless steel appliances. I absolutely loved it! It was perfect for the two of us. The house had been listed online for about four days, and by the time we inquired about it, it had already been rented. I was devastated. Our realtor told us that he has many people interested in buying or renting right now, but he doesn't have any homes to show them. We knew that we would have to act fast when we found a place we really loved.
This seems to be a reoccurring theme in my life lately, but it wasn't meant for me to be in that first home that we really liked but had already been rented out. Later, we found out it did not allow pets, which wouldn't have worked for us anyway. About two weeks later, we found THE house for us. It is a townhouse in a great location. It has everything I was looking for, and it has Tyler's garage. It even has an adorable back patio area for Ty's grill with a magnolia tree in the backyard. I love it! It is everything we have been looking for, and it allows us to have our fur babies. That just goes to show you that when your plans don't work out, it isn't always a bad thing! We had something much better in store for us. I stopped fighting it and had faith that we would end up wherever we were supposed to be, and that is exactly what happened. What a blessing!
Here are some before pictures of our first home. I will post more later once we officially move in. I want to do several updates with this post. That way I will be able to see the progression as we get everything moved in! Tyler will be moving into the new place in just a couple of weeks, but I won't be joining him there until after we are married. This is such an exciting time for us! I hope y'all love our new place!
This is where you first walk into the house. You will see Ty and our realtor in some of these pictures. To the left is the staircase to go upstairs to the bedrooms, and the door on the right leads to the garage. The door to the left is a half bath.
When you reach the end of the hallway, it is an open floor plan with the kitchen to the right, the dining area to the left, and the living room at the back of the house. The kitchen resembles the kitchen I have now in my apartment, so most of the things I already have to decorate will match this place too! The dining room is to the left of the kitchen, and it is one of my favorite spots in the whole house. When I saw the wainscoting, I was sold! I think it is so beautiful!
Just past the dining area and kitchen is the living room. It has a fireplace with builtins surrounding it. I absolutely love this because it looks similar to what my mom has in her living room. In the living room, there is a back door which leads to the patio area. When we visited the house the first time, it had just snowed, so it was hard to get a good look at the patio. Recently, we went back to see it, and we were able to check it out. I love it! The previous owners had added stone around the magnolia tree and planted other flowers around it. I can't wait for spring when everything blooms!
This is the view from the living room looking back to the rest of the house.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms - a master and two guests. Also, there is a laundry room, linen closet, and two bathrooms. Here is the master bedroom and closet.
The two guest bedrooms are side by side with a shared guest bathroom. Kelly already has one picked out for herself LOL In Tyler's apartment he lives in now, Kip was going to stay with him a couple of nights after he moved in. I wanted to make sure the guest bedroom was made up for him before I left. The whole time we were moving Tyler into that apartment, I referred to the guest room as Kip's room, and it stuck. So now for this house, the two guest rooms belong to Kelly and Kip! LOL
I would be lying to y'all if I said I didn't have this house entirely decorated in my head already LOL To say I am a planner is putting it lightly. I always like to be prepared, and I get a sense of satisfaction when I have a game plan and a general idea of what to expect. Moving is no exception. I know where I want to place all of the furniture, pictures, rugs, etc. At least it will make for a smooth move (I hope)! I can't wait to make this house a home. I am counting down the days until Tyler and I will be living here together as husband and wife!
Can't wait to visit! I assume one of those guest rooms belong to me??? :D
