I chose the name Southern Sundays for my blog because Sunday is my favorite day. Tyler and I both have hectic schedules, and on Sunday, we get to slow down a little. I love going to church, and after church we usually brunch and just enjoy the day together. My tagline says "Every day needs Jesus, love, and sweet tea." This really encompasses an average day in my life. I am a Christian, and I pray and read scripture ever day. Every single day I turn to Jesus and feel his presence in my life. If you put God first, everything else will fall into place! Love, in my opinion, should be a focus in your everyday life too. Love for your partner, your family, your friend, your neighbor, and your enemy should be practiced each and every day. Now I know that last one (loving your enemy) can sometimes be hard to do, but I just keep Matthew 6:14 in mind: For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. I learned what true unselfish love was once I met Tyler. I believe God hand picked that man for me, so I make a conscious effort to let him know how much I appreciate him every day! Now, the sweet tea part of my tagline doesn't need much explanation. How could anyone get through a whole day without any sweet tea? So, I named my blog Southern Sundays because every day needs a little Jesus, love, and sweet tea!
I hope my family and friends enjoy following along with what I am up to. Many of you live far away, and I do not get to keep in touch as often as I would like. I thought this would be a fun way to keep everyone updated on what is going on in my life as well as a way to keep a journal for myself to look back on in the future!
